Students who wish to pursue K-6 teacher certification in Elementary Education must apply to and be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. The Psychology Major with Teacher Certification in Social Studies (P-12) (B.A.) teaches students to have a broad understanding of the cultural and environmental factors which shape the individual and society. To meet the approved program for certification in social studies, course work is required in each of the following: anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science and sociology.

PhD in Clinical Psychology
The mission of the PhD program is to prepare students to become competent and highly skilled in the research and practice of clinical psychology. In emphasizing the integration of science and practice, the program adheres to a training approach consistent with the scientist-practitioner model. Students can seek advanced training in clinical child psychology or forensic psychology.

PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology
The PhD program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Montclair follows the scientist-practitioner model, equally emphasizing the generation and application of psychological science to improve the workplace. Students will develop their research and analytical skills in concert with individual faculty members while also applying this knowledge through coursework, consulting, and experiential projects.
